Millions of people visit blogs everyday. Some are looking for
information, some more experience bloggers, are looking to
comment and create back links and others are there because you
drove them there via your marketing efforts and are looking to
buy what you have to sell. No matter how or why they are there
blogging can be a very profitable home based business.

What should a money making blog look like?

Blogs come in all shapes and sizes and there's not that will fit
all niches. It is important to really know your target market.
Lady quilters won't stay long on a blog that is full of dark
sultry meaning. It should be easy to read and it should be
interesting. I guess that goes without saying....

WordPress blogs are a great way for any home based
business owner to get started. It's easy to setup and
maintain, you can find many very nice themes for free, you're
sure to find one to fit your niche and many hosting sites offer
support for WordPress blogs.

Monetizing your home business blog

One of the easiest ways to monetize your blog is to participate
in Google AdSense. As an affiliate you can place code on your
blog which allows other affiliates ad to appear on your site. If
they get a click you get paid.

Another easy way is to sell affiliate products. There are many
ways to do this. One might be to post banners on your site for
affiliate programs you have joined. When someone visits your
site and sees the banner if it interests them they will click
and purchase. Two, you can also join Amazon's Associate program
and sell products related to your blog on your site. Three, if
your blog is a review site you can place links to your JV
partners products and receive contracted value for any purchases
make that way.

And of course last but not least you can sell your own home
business product or service on the site. It is your site so
you can be blatant about the sell, but I have found that if you
mix a bit of training, or humor in with the selling you keep
people around longer.

Now all that's left is to drive traffic. I made that sound so
easy...Again there are many ways to drive traffic but that's
another article. Some free tactics are article marketing, forum
marketing and creating video.

If you post regularly, keep it interesting you will soon create
a loyal following.
